  • Pin any plugin at a version, with a note saying why.
  • Exact pins allow nothing newer; patch-only pins still let releases in the pinned series through.
  • Every way of updating is covered: the update offer, automatic updates, manual updates, zip uploads, reinstalls and WP-CLI. A refused update gets a message naming the pin, its note and how to allow it.
  • Pin WordPress itself, with patch-only mode for its maintenance and security releases.
  • The Pins tab shows each pin as OK, Drift or Missing, and which newer version a pin is holding back. The Plugins screen shows the pin and its note under each pinned plugin.
  • Find older-series fixes (off by default): lets patch-only pins receive fixes that authors release for older series, for plugins hosted on WordPress.org.
  • WP-CLI: wp version-pin list, add and remove.
