What Gorilla Staging Guard keeps on your site, what it sends, and what deleting it removes. It keeps a little about the emails it stops, so you can see what a staging site tried to send.

What it sends

Nothing. The plugin makes no requests of its own, sets no cookies and uses no outside service. On a staging site it only refuses requests that other plugins make to email services and to the live site.

What it keeps

What Where Personal data
The activity log: for each email stopped or let through, the time, the first recipient partly hidden (j•••@example.com), the number of recipients, the first 80 characters of the subject and the sending plugin; for a refused request or webhook, the time and the host name A table of the site's own The partly hidden address, and anything a customer's name puts in a subject
Addresses allowed to receive email on a staging site The plugin's settings The addresses you typed
Who switched on Send to me and Send critical-error emails to me The plugin's settings, by user ID Which users chose them
"Not now" answers to the plugin's question Each user's profile Which users answered
The live site's recorded address The plugin's settings None

Never kept: the message itself, its headers or attachments, a full email address, or the path of a web address.

How long it is kept

Activity entries are kept for 90 days by default, or 30, 60, 180 or 365 days as chosen under Keep activity for. Older entries are removed once a day, and at most 10,000 are kept. The settings are kept until you change them or delete the plugin. Clear activity on the Activity tab removes every entry at once.

The activity log is not part of WordPress's tools to export or erase a person's data. Its entries expire on their own, and hold no full address to look a person up by.

What deleting the plugin removes

Nothing, unless Delete all data when the plugin is deleted is switched on. Then deleting the plugin from the Plugins screen removes the activity table, the settings and the live site's recorded address. Each person's "Not now" answers are removed when no site in a network kept its data.

Deactivating the plugin removes nothing.
